The Corporate Tax Manager is responsible for managing and implementing tax strategies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws while optimizing the company's tax position. This role involves overseeing tax planning, reporting, and compliance functions, as well as providing strategic guidance on tax-related matters to executive leadership. We need a hands-on, "roll up your sleeves" person who can interact and collaborate with internal finance and other business partners to ensure the timely and accurate execution of tax responsibilities.
Where you’ll work
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation of being in our Irving office three days a week, working from home two days.
What you’ll be doing
Assist with global tax compliance, financial statement reporting, and tax planning for domestic and international subsidiaries.
Support the implementation of federal, state, and local tax strategies to achieve compliance and optimize tax savings.
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting federal, state, local, and international tax compliance and report findings to senior management.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions and contribute to internal tax modeling and forecasting efforts.
Handle estimated tax payments, respond to tax notices, and prepare other miscellaneous tax reports.
Prepare indirect tax filings, including property, gross receipts, and use tax.
Oversee the sales tax process, including managing outsourced tax preparer and managing sales tax registrations.
Manage provider Form 1099 compliance, including annual filings and responding to notices.
Identify and communicate federal, state, and local tax risks and savings opportunities to senior tax team members.
Support internal process improvements and contribute to efficiency initiatives within the tax function.
Collaborate with the Accounting team to assist in reconciling US GAAP and statutory reporting.
Assist in managing tax-related audits and compile necessary support documentation for tax filings.
Oversee and provide support for the preparation of R&D tax credit documentation.
What you’ll need
6+ years experience, with public accounting experience along with demonstrated leadership positions
Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Masters in Tax preferred); CPA required.
Demonstrates a strong value system and an ethical sense of judgment.
Must be proficient in ASC 740, Tax Provisioning.
Exceptional analytical, tax technical, organizational, and project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex tax matters to all levels of management, both internally and externally.
Expert in Microsoft Excel.
Experience with transfer pricing, acquisitions, and understanding of PIUs and stock transactions.
Experience with both Partnership and Corporate tax is a plus.
NetSuite and Avalara experience is a plus.
